Bring your research back into focus

An interesting post is easy to find and easy to lose. When research lives across open tabs and separate documents, returning to an idea often means repeating the search. The Trendlyst Pro content library gives your saved Instagram research a place to come back to.

Save posts and Reels from the extension while you browse, then open your web workspace to review the content together. Build collections around the way you work: a client, a campaign, a product launch, or a creative question. Keep the group focused enough that you can explain why those references belong together.

This page describes the saved research workflow. Saving content is a deliberate action you take while researching. A saved profile or collection is not a promise of automatic monitoring, and the library does not turn a collection into a publishing calendar.

From Instagram discovery to a collection

1. Open a supported Instagram page in Chrome with Trendlyst installed. Sort or review the content until you have a useful shortlist. Sign in with a Pro account to use Save to Trendlyst and bring your selected research into the web workspace.

2. Open the content library in Trendlyst. Review what you saved and group relevant items in a collection. Prefer a name that describes the research purpose, such as “Launch references” or “Product demonstrations,” rather than a broad folder that will eventually contain everything.

3. Return to the collection when you begin the brief. Open the source content, compare the examples, and choose the references that still fit. You do not need to use every item you saved. A collection is most useful when it makes the next decision easier.

4. Use the collection sharing controls when you want someone else to review it. Check the contents and sharing state before distributing the link. The shared collection should tell a coherent story even to a reviewer who did not take part in the original research.

Organize around the question you are answering

A client collection can bring together references for a recurring account. A campaign collection can focus on a single launch or message. A format collection can gather examples of a creative approach, such as tutorials, demonstrations, or interviews. Pick the structure that matches how you expect to return to the work.

For a creative team, a useful collection might answer “How do other creators explain this kind of product?” Keep examples with different approaches so the team can compare choices. A set of nearly identical references gives you less to discuss than a shortlist with clear differences.

Avoid turning every interesting post into a permanent reference. Review the collection before a handoff and remove items that no longer support the question. The value is not the number of items stored; it is how quickly the group helps someone understand the creative direction.

Share references with enough context

A shared collection reduces the effort of sending individual post links one at a time. Use it to prepare a review, give a collaborator a set of examples, or keep references together while developing a brief. Share the collection after you have checked that the items are relevant to the recipient.

Pair the link with a concise explanation in your existing brief or conversation. Say what the recipient should look for: opening structure, demonstration style, visual framing, or the way an idea is explained. This makes the review more useful than asking someone to “look at these posts.”

Keep a distinction between a reference and an instruction. The point of research is to understand an approach and develop your own response. A source link lets reviewers inspect the original context rather than relying on an isolated screenshot or an unsupported conclusion.

Choose a collection or an export

Use a collection when you want to return to visual references and keep a set of saved items together in Trendlyst. Use an export when you need to calculate, chart, or combine research in another tool. These workflows support different parts of a review and can be used together.

For example, begin with a collection for the creative shortlist and use a spreadsheet to compare the available metrics. Bring your interpretation into the brief after watching or reading the source content. Performance figures help prioritize attention, but they do not describe the whole creative idea.

Instagram Saved sorting is a separate extension workflow for supported saved-content pages on Instagram. A Trendlyst collection lives in your Trendlyst web workspace. Keeping this distinction clear makes it easier to choose the right place to start.

Make the library part of a repeatable research habit

Begin each session with a topic or decision rather than an open-ended search. Collect a manageable set, sort it, and save the references that deserve more attention. At the end of the session, choose the collection that will make those references easy to find again.

Before the next review, revisit the original content and check whether it still supports your observation. Source availability and visible metrics can change. A saved reference is useful context, but it is not evidence that the same numbers or source page will remain unchanged forever.

End the review with a clear creative decision: an opening to test, a demonstration to develop, or a question to answer for your own audience. The library keeps the research accessible so the next session can build on that thinking instead of starting from an empty browser.
